Designing a Bold New Bracelet with 8 Colors | Elongated Arrowhead Template 🧵🎨

We’re back in the pattern maker — and today, I’m building out a brand new bracelet design using the 8-color swatch I showed you yesterday! This one features a single-stranded 16-string layout and uses an elongated arrowhead style that stretches colors out into bold, layered segments.

🧵 What’s in the video:

  • Full walkthrough of building the pattern using GIMP
  • How to follow color flow and match directional zigzags
  • Tips for balancing colors, predicting dominant shades, and avoiding string shortages
  • First-time reveal: This pattern has never been made before!

I’ve made arrowhead-inspired patterns in the past — some even became tubular or wide wraps — but this version is something totally fresh. The red turned out WAY more dominant than I expected, so this is going to be one very bold bracelet. Can’t wait to actually make it.

If you’re building your own patterns or want to learn how to think ahead while designing, this one’s a must-watch.

Today we’re finishing the elongated arrowhead bracelet from the custom swatch build — and I’ve got a surprise for you. 😅

Everything was going smoothly… until the very end when I noticed a small symmetry glitch in the pattern — a little green diamond that threw things off. The funny part? It’s symmetrical and subtle enough that nobody spotted it until I pointed it out. That’s the power of visual balance — it can hide flaws in plain sight.

🧵 Bracelet Details:

  • 16 single strands (8 colors)
  • Custom swatch used from previous video
  • Pattern type: 4-3 elongated arrowhead
  • Time: Just over 2 hours to complete
  • Not beginner-friendly — lots of directional changes and tension control required

Despite the tiny mistake, this bracelet came out beautifully. The reds and oranges really dominate the design, and the structure falls into a pleasing rhythm. This was my first time making this pattern, and I learned a lot — including how easily visual symmetry can mask a misstep.
