Doubling the Pattern! What Happens When You Go BIG? 🧵 | Elongated Arrowhead Remix
Hey, it’s Kevin—aka AWOL—and today we’re scaling things up! I’m taking the elongated arrowhead pattern from our previous project and doubling it to see how it holds up… and to test the idea of turning this design into a bracelet wrap, can cover, or even a bag. 👀
🧶 Same colors, same energy, but now with a full double-wide layout—and a twist in the middle row that gives it an entirely new feel.
In this video, I:
Walk through building the double-wide pattern from scratch
Explain the process of mapping out string placement manually
Highlight why we need a clean, complete pattern for the website
Share early thoughts on how this could become a larger project (and maybe a new format for designs going forward!)
🖌️ Pro tip: Sometimes the template colors don’t do justice to the final bracelet. But believe me, in person this one pops—especially with that bold dark blue center.
And here is my pattern. Click it to get the PDF in higher resolution.

Hey everyone, Kevin here—aka AWOL—and today’s video is all about the finished double-wide elongated arrowhead bracelet. This 32-string beast took almost 4 hours to complete, but let me tell you—it was absolutely worth it.
💥 The color contrast? Gorgeous.
🧩 The structure? Bold and complex.
🧵 The process? Challenging, but so rewarding.
I walk through the final results, share insights on working with a larger format, and talk about future plans—like turning this into a pen holder wrap, a jar sleeve, or even a bag. I also cover:
- Tips for transitioning direction in the center of a bracelet
- Segmenting the workflow to speed things up
- Why orange and red were the most-used strings
- How I might use filler string to adjust if the bracelet doesn’t wrap perfectly
Plus, this video includes the real-time thought process that goes into managing longer builds, especially when recording or livestreaming. Spoiler: There’s a big middle chunk cut out (because 4 hours of knots is a bit much), but the before-and-after is totally satisfying.
