Elongated Arrowhead—but Flipped! ❄️🔥 Cold Center, Hot Ends | New Bracelet Pattern Build

Hey friends, Kevin here—aka AWOL—and today we’re diving into a fresh take on the elongated arrowhead pattern. This time, instead of stretching it horizontally, we’re flipping the direction and elongating vertically, creating a design where the cool colors dominate the center and hot colors blaze at the ends. ❄️🔥

It’s the same swatch of colors as before, but with a completely different feel—and that’s what I love most about making patterns: small changes can create huge visual shifts.

💡 In this video:

  • I build the full pattern step-by-step from scratch
  • You’ll see how to trace string paths and fill in colors logically
  • I explain how to troubleshoot and verify that your pattern works
  • Plus: reflections on 2025’s creative journey & what’s ahead next year!

🧶 Not a beginner-friendly pattern, but this is a great example of how designing your own bracelet patterns is easier than it looks once you understand the flow.

Hey everyone, Kevin here—aka AWOL—and today we’re diving into another elongated arrowhead, but this time with a new twist: the arrows point inward toward the center, and we’ve doubled the little diamonds at the tips to create a whole new flow.

🧵 The result? Less like water ripples and more like digital signals—clean, sharp, and totally unique.
💡This is all about experimenting with direction and structure, and it definitely paid off. The center contrast with cool tones popping out from between fiery ends? 😍 Chef’s kiss.

🕒 Took about 2 hours and 10 minutes—with a little phone game distraction along the way (tournament life!).
🎨 The dark blue was the MVP of this pattern—used the most, followed by that punchy pink-purple.

In this video:

  • What changes when you reverse direction mid-pattern
  • Why this version has “digital” vibes
  • My thought process on using this for future projects (like a pen can wrap or bag!)
  • Tips on cutting strings in thirds to avoid running short
  • Why you should experiment with fades, contrasts, and new layouts
  • Reflections on this past year and what’s coming next 💬
