Centered, Colorful & Just a Bit Chaotic!

Welcome back, it’s Kevin (aka AWOL), and today we’re diving into the setup for Blindsided Creation pattern #182408 from BraceletBook! 🎨

This one’s got SIX colors and a lot of hot hues doing the heavy lifting—red, orange, and yellow dominate the center while purple, green, and blue subtly support the overall symmetry. I used GIMP (a free graphic tool like Photoshop) to build out a quarter of the bracelet and mirrored it across to get a full, clean, centered template. 💡

✨ Key moments:

Identifying dominant colors + which ones need longer strings

Using GIMP to build out the design from one quadrant

Tips for layering, copying, and rotating for symmetry

Why doing the easy parts first makes the rest a breeze

Thoughts on string planning (1/3 skein for yellow, less for purple/blue)

I didn’t change much, but I did take the time to center the design and adjust it for symmetry so it looks clean and deliberate from start to finish. This is an intermediate pattern (hello zigzag knots!), but if you’ve got all four knots down, you’re ready. 🧶 Colors: Heavy on yellow and orange—almost ran out! 🪢 Structure: Simplified the opening segment for better shape retention. 🧠 Tips: How I count out large sequences (smooth brain tricks), keep things from veering off-center, and why I film farther from the clip than I usually knot. 🎯 Finished Time: 62 minutes
