6 Colors, 24 Strings: Testing a New Arrowhead + Zigzag Mashup! | akaAWOL

Welcome back! In today’s video, I’m testing out a brand-new pattern concept that shrinks down a previous 8-color, 32-string design into something more manageable — just 6 colors and 24 strings. It’s a mix of arrowhead on one side and zigzag on the other, and spoiler alert: the math checks out!

I walk you through the layout process, choosing colors, and how to trace the knot pattern efficiently — especially useful if you’re working in pattern software or designing your own swatches.

This time, I tackled the 24-string asymmetrical bracelet — arrowhead on the right, zigzag on the left — and while I thought fewer strings would mean a quicker build, this one surprised me. It’s based on a simplified version of the 32-string pattern from last week, but something about this layout stretched the design way out.

📆 Started on Sunday, finished on Monday. It took longer than expected, and yes, I tried to time it… but ADHD said otherwise. 😅

I’ll walk you through how it worked, what made it more advanced than it looks, how much string I used (one-third skeins per color), and why this design might be more accessible for those who want the visual impact of a complex bracelet with fewer strands.
