I Made a Bracelet Outside… and Everything Went Wrong at First – video1000

To celebrate, I’m going all the way back to where it started—recreating the very first friendship bracelet pattern I ever made on this channel… 17 years ago.

What began as a simple idea to show my girlfriend a cool stop-motion bracelet somehow turned into a video with over 160,000 views—and today, we’re finally breaking it down properly.

In this video:

🎨 I reconstruct the original pattern step-by-step
🧵 Break down the 4-color sequence (1-2-3-4-1)
🔍 Analyze symmetry and structure to simplify the design
🧠 Show how understanding patterns makes recreating them easier

This one’s special. It’s a mix of nostalgia, pattern logic, and a reminder of how far this journey has come.

Today’s bracelet session is a little different—I took things outside to East Coast Park and tried filming while making one of my original designs from 17 years ago 🌊🧵

Let’s just say… the first few minutes were a struggle 😅
Between balancing the camera, stabilizing the board, and figuring out a new setup, things got shaky—literally. But once it settled in, this turned into a really fun experiment.

From , here’s what went down:

Filming outdoors for the first time (with… mixed results at the start)
A bracelet design that goes all the way back to my very first YouTube video
The origin story of the channel (spoiler: it wasn’t meant for YouTube at all)
A full 16-string bracelet made in about 1.5 hours
Bonus: ships, sea views, and a bit of Singapore along the way

This video is kind of a full-circle moment—revisiting where it all started, but with everything I’ve learned since.

Also sharing a few practical tips:

How to set up a portable bracelet-making station
Why board height matters for comfort
A simple trick for always having a needle handy to fix mistakes

Big thanks to my YouTube Members for helping make experiments like this possible 🙌
