Finally… an EASY One Beginner-Friendly Fancy Chevron – Pattern 3536
After that last pattern… I needed a break 😅
So today we’re working on Pattern 3536 from friendship-bracelets.net—and this one is a much nicer change of pace. It’s simple, clean, and actually a really great design if you’re not looking to melt your brain with zigzags.
But of course… we’re not leaving it completely basic 😉
I added a center diamond to give it a little extra personality, turning a standard chevron into something more like a “fancy chevron”—similar vibes to candy stripe variations, but with a bit more visual interest.
💡 In this video, you’ll learn:
- How to modify a basic pattern with a simple centerpiece
- Why this is a great beginner-friendly design
- How to build symmetry by working one side and flipping it
- How color choices can completely change the vibe
🎨 I went with a custom color order (instead of the original), and it really helps the flow make more sense visually.
🧵 This pattern is:
✔️ Easy to follow
✔️ Great for beginners
✔️ Perfect if you want something relaxing but still creative

Looking for a bracelet that’s easy to make… but still looks impressive? 👀
This is Pattern 3536—what I like to call a “fancy chevron.” It takes a super simple chevron base and adds just enough detail to make it really stand out.
And yes… we added a center diamond for that extra pop 💎
💡 In this video, you’ll learn:
- Why this is an ideal beginner pattern
- How small design tweaks (like a diamond center) elevate simple patterns
- How color spacing creates that “spread out” effect on the edges
- How to spot and fix tension or knot direction issues
🧵 Pattern details:
- 6 colors / 12 strings
- Took about 1 hour to complete
- Very balanced string usage (no major guesswork needed)
This is also a great practice bracelet—if something looks off, it’ll be easy to spot and fix, which makes it perfect for improving your technique.
⚠️ Pro tip:
If your bracelet starts looking messy halfway through… you might be working too far from your clip 👀 (seriously, this is a common issue!)
