Blindsided by a Power Outage
What do you do when a thunderstorm knocks out your power mid-design? You improvise! 😅 Today’s Blindsided Creation started with a huge lightning strike that wiped out my progress, but we’re not giving up that easily. This pattern was submitted by the awesome Minute_Craft (thank you!!), and even though I had already started before everything went dark, I’m walking you through the full rebuild and design process. From flipping sections, working with color swaps, and battling the confusing outer row from BraceletBook (you know what I mean!), this one ended up being a surprise favorite — especially the shadowy middle!
And here is my pattern. Click it to get the PDF in higher resolution.

This Blindsided Creation took me on a little unexpected ride! 😅
Pattern #25550 from BraceletBook — submitted by the awesome Minute_Craft — looks complex, but turns out to be surprisingly beginner-friendly… until I flipped the design halfway for a little extra drama. 💥
In this episode:
- I break down why this pattern feels harder than it actually is
- We talk about color markers that make knotting so much easier
- I recreate the whole thing from scratch (because yeah… I forgot to save the file 😬)
- AND I share a few ideas for how you could remix the center with diamonds or alternate color flow for extra impact!
⏱ Knotting time? Around 78 minutes for a 16-string bracelet — totally doable, even if you’re still finding your groove with segment knotting.
