Friendship Bracelet Pattern Experiment

Hey everyone, Kevin here (aka AWOL) 👋 and today I’m trying out another variation of my diamond-centered bracelet design.

This time I wanted to make it just a little more complex:

A big diamond in the middle 💎

Alternating single knots + double boxes (1, 2, 1, 2, etc.)

That same DNA-style twist you know and love 🧬

It may look like just a small tweak compared to the last one, but trust me — even subtle changes totally shift the way a bracelet feels while you’re tying it. I’m betting this version will actually be easier to keep track of, since the “single vs. double” rhythm makes it obvious where you are in the pattern.

🧵 Why I love experiments like this:

You learn as you go (sometimes in surprising ways)

Every tweak creates a different bracelet vibe

Templates = freedom to explore your own ideas!!

Hey everyone, Kevin here (aka AWOL)! 👋 Today’s bracelet is another one of my original diamond designs — but with a small + medium twist.

Instead of sticking to just one size, this bracelet alternates small, medium, small, medium until it hits a larger diamond at the center, then goes back again. The result? A design that feels balanced, subtle, and super satisfying to knot.

✨ Why I like this one:

Easier to track visually (less counting headaches 🙌)

Zigzag knots only at the corners (great for practice!)

More even string usage this time, so tassels turned out better

The subtle size shifts make the center diamond feel extra special

This bracelet works beautifully if you’re just learning zigzag knots (the ones that change direction mid-way), or if you just want a relaxing project that looks fancier than it is.
