Turning a Rainbow Bracelet Pattern into Pink & Blue!
What happens when the pattern is already a rainbow?
Normally, I take friendship bracelet patterns and transform them into rainbow versions—but this time I had a completely different challenge. I already had six strings cut and ready to go: three pinks and three blues. Instead of making another rainbow, I wanted to see if I could create a balanced hot-and-cold color palette from an existing rainbow design.
In this episode of Blindsided Creations, I start with friendship-bracelets.net pattern #72994 and redesign it using color fades, contrast, and a little experimentation. Along the way we talk about why fades can be tricky, how contrast changes the overall look of a bracelet, and why sometimes the best ideas come from simply using the string you already have.
Sometimes the challenge isn’t finding a pattern—it’s finding a new way to look at one.

Today’s bracelet proves that you don’t always need a new pattern—you just need a new way to use color.
Starting with friendship-bracelets.net pattern #72994, I transformed an existing rainbow design into a pink-and-blue bracelet using three shades of each color. The biggest difference wasn’t the colors themselves—it was the order they were placed in.
Instead of having the lightest shades meet in the middle, I paired the lightest colors against the darkest. That extra contrast makes the design stand out in a way that completely changes the look of the bracelet.
This is also an excellent pattern for beginners. You’ll get plenty of practice making chevrons in both directions, balancing tension, and forming clean diamonds—all skills that carry over into more advanced friendship bracelet patterns.
