Making Friendship Bracelet pillows

If you have been following me on YouTube you will have seen my pillow projects. Well, I have some stuff that might help you if you’re thinking about doing on yourself.

You may have noticed that I started off my project flat. Well, I did that so as to waste as little as possible. Had I been a bunch of diamond starts, there would have been issues when sewing it into a pillow. So I used the diagram shown above to figure out the order to put the string in. Since the colors were kinda close I numbered them 1-6 from lightest to darkest. Then from the diagram figured out the sequence that is 6,6,1,5,2,4,3,3,4,2,5,1 and then it starts over again.

So there I was making small diamond halves just to get it started knowing I could come back to do the rest later on. So far I think this is the easiest way to get a project like this started. From there it’s just using a bunch of clips to get the start nice and straight.

So the image above is for me to get a start on the next big project. 6 colors in a near rainbow effect. The colors I chose were 817, 740, 307, 815, 154, and 796 with over 300 skeins!! What better place to save the pattern to start than my own website? LOL Perhaps it can help you too.

This image is both a note on my desk over the wall with all the cut floss. This is how I keep track of how I pull colors and keep track of what’s next. This little trick saves me all kinds of time and avoids errors.
