Turning a Failed Bracelet into a New Blindsided Creation | Pattern Remix + Cutout Technique
Hey everyone, it’s Kevin aka AWOL! 👋
Remember that Blindsided Creation we tried (#16704)? Yeah… I wasn’t happy with how it turned out. 😬 So I’m remixing it into something smaller, simpler, and way more striking. We’re trimming it down to a 12-string bracelet, adjusting the zigzags, and totally reworking the buttonhole cutouts to really show off those indentations. ✂️💎
Plus, I’m experimenting with a bold new design style I’ve never done before. Curious to see how it turns out? Me too. 😂
✅ Smaller design = faster make
✅ Cool cutouts = major style points
✅ Symmetrical layout = smooth knotting
And here is my pattern. Click it to get the PDF in higher resolution.

Hey friends, Kevin here — aka AWOL — and today I’m finally redeeming that bracelet from Blindsided Creation #16704. 😅
If you saw the original, you know I wasn’t thrilled with how it turned out. So I came back for Round 2: a smaller, smarter 12-string version with bold cutouts, cleaner tapering, and a legit usable buttonhole! 🙌
In this video, I show you exactly how I made it, where I changed the pattern on the fly, what mistakes I made (thanks, Doctor Who 🧑🚀), and what surprisingly worked really well — like that white star that appeared out of nowhere!
🪡 What’s inside:
- How I redesigned the buttonhole & indentation cutouts
- Tips on tapering your bracelet without losing structure
- Real-time mistakes (and how to fix ’em with a needle)
- Why this version is better, faster, and more fun to make
- Design thoughts: when weird = wonderful
I’d love to see your versions! Come hang out with us on Discord and share your take — or submit your own pattern for a future Blindsided Creation.
