Creating a Gorgeous Bracelet from photo
Today we’re diving deep into a pattern mystery inspired by Critter Crafter’s beautiful bracelet on Instagram! 🧵 The original piece used variegated floss, making it tricky to recreate — but with a little detective work (and a LOT of zooming in), we figured it out together!
In this video, I walk you through the process of decoding, mapping, and building a complete pattern from scratch, using solid colors to make the structure easier to see. 🌈 You’ll learn not only how to make this bracelet but also how to understand how patterns are built — so you can start designing your own!

Today, we’re building on the last video where we decoded that beautiful variegated bracelet — and now I’m showing you how to shrink that big 48-string pattern into a 24-string or even a super-manageable 12-string version! 🎨
Learn an easy technique for resizing any pattern using copy, paste, and flipping in GIMP (or your favorite graphic editor). This is perfect if you love a design but don’t want to wrestle with 48 strings.

Today I’m showing you the finished 12-string version of the variegated pattern we decoded earlier — and sharing a few important lessons I learned along the way. (Spoiler: always double-check your templates! 😅)

✨ Where I had to adapt the pattern mid-way to save the project
✨ Color placement tips for adding more interest (or keeping it classic)
✨ String usage notes — heads up, black and white get used up FAST!
Hey everyone, Kevin (aka AWOL) back again! 🧵
Today I’m revealing the 24-string version of the variegated diamond bracelet — doubling the size from yesterday’s 12-string project! 🙌
This design was originally based on a 48-string photo shared by Just String Things. After creating the smaller version, I knew I had to see what it would look like a little bigger — and honestly? I think the 24-string version is even cooler! 🎨
