Working from photo to make a Friendship Bracelet

This was all I had to work with

So I was sent the photo above. It was in regard to my asking for patterns that I could play around with. However, the pattern number was lost because of an update to the website it was on. So all I had to work with was this photo.

The first thing I had to do was determine the number of strings used.

From zooming in I could see there were 5 knots coming down in the diamond. This meant there were 10 stings in all for the bracelet. Great! From there I could open my graph paper and create the pattern. Next, I found the approximate center of my graph paper and decided what part of the bracelet I wanted to be in the middle since I wanted this to be symmetrical.

Next, it was about following the design from the photo and working out how the strings under the knots travel to make sure the colors were available where needed. That really is all there is to it. Once the pattern is made all there is left to do is t cut string and make a bracelet!
