Using the graph paper

Well, there you go! The commonly sought after ‘How-to’ diagram of one of my personal designs. People have asked me about this on Instagram, Facebook, as well as in person.

This can also show how you can use the graph design I shared in a previous post.

I’ve tried to share this as a tutorial on (a fine website for people who are just starting out knotting) but after ages of work entering it into the system, it came back with the error message “Too Complicated”. So here it is finally!

Now you may be wondering why I didn’t carry out the design any further. Well, because with this you have choices. YOU have to decide what you do next and that’s my real hope – to get you to design for yourself. However, I will provide some examples of what I’ve done with this pattern.

So there you go. You start with something simple and with a bit of imagination you can take the idea further. My hope is that a reader might take my design and add to it so that I might learn from their experience and we as a knotting community can grow. That these “Too Complicated” patterns have a way to get shared and have a place to find them. They will always have a home here!

As always if you have any questions, leave them in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer promptly.
