Friendship Bracelet Pillow #4
So any big project begins with planning. Here I plan to share with you my process on pillow #4. It starts with the string I’ve chosen.
There are 12 colors to work with. Once I knew this was what I was working with I worked out how many strands across I needed to get the width I needed. A lot of math went from the 16 strands =20.5mm to knowing that I’d need 192 strands or 96 x 2 segments to get the width right.

Then there was working out this pattern. So much went into just making this possible. First, we (Mandy helped out) needed to make sure that all colors were treated evenly. Since the outer/larger areas use more floss and get replaced more each color had to be in that position. Then each needed to be in the other positions as well… It’s complicated. If you look at the pattern, the top row of numbers is the number assigned to each color. It repeats because I needed to see this to be able to work out the row of numbers below that as I went along. So that second row of numbers is what I’ll use to add each strand to a string as I get this project started. Each strand with be attached with a larks head knot to a strand and from there I’ll just use the regular friendship bracelet knots to bring this project to life.
