Creating a Unique Bracelet Pattern – Candy Stripe with a Twist!
Today, I’m designing another fun and beginner-friendly bracelet pattern—this time adding a cool twist to the classic candy stripe! Instead of a simple diagonal pattern, this version features small squares that appear in the center of each section, creating a bold and visually interesting effect. If done in a rainbow color scheme, the squares will always be the opposite color of the row they appear in—like green in the middle of red, blue in the middle of orange, etc.
For this project, I’m using a fade from light to dark red, but to make the pattern easier to visualize, I’ve mapped it out using rainbow colors first. This pattern is not only easy to follow but also a great way to practice reading patterns and planning color placement.
And here is my pattern. Click it to get the PDF in higher resolution.

Today, we’re making a super beginner-friendly bracelet that puts a twist on the classic candy stripe—adding a row of diamonds down the center!
This is an easy pattern that looks way more complicated than it actually is. Once you set up the string correctly (splitting the colors left and right), the bracelet itself is just a simple row-by-row process—great for beginners or even experienced makers looking for a relaxing project!
Pattern Highlights:
Beginner-friendly but visually striking!
Works with any 6+ color fade (try different color combos!)
Can be doubled or widened for bags & larger projects
I made this one using a red gradient fade to match my floss swatch box, and I’m super happy with how it turned out—though I think my lightest color might be a bit too peachy. What do you think? Would you try this color scheme?
