Zigzags, Retro Vibes, and Pattern Frustrations

Today’s Blindsided Creations is a 12-string zigzag adventure with some serious 70s energy—pattern #113036 from BraceletBook! 🎨

At first glance, this one looked simple enough, but as I got deeper into it… yikes. There’s a lot of counting, a lot of guesswork, and it’s easy to get tripped up. I ended up flipping, tweaking, and fully redrawing parts of the pattern just to make it work visually. Is it satisfying in the end? Kind of. Will it turn out as cool knotted as it looks on screen? We’ll find out tomorrow.

🎯 Highlights:

  • 12-string pattern = 6 on each side
  • Symmetry achieved via copy-paste and flip
  • Not a personal favorite, but it might surprise us
  • Final design feels very retro (in a groovy way)

Some bracelets make me excited to get to work. This one? Not so much. But that’s part of what Blindsided Creations is all about—seeing what we can do with random patterns we didn’t pick ourselves.

Pattern #113036 looked simple on paper… but this zigzag-heavy 12-string beast fought me every step of the way. 😤 What should’ve been a straightforward build turned into 72 minutes of careful one-row-at-a-time knotting. No segment knotting, no flow—just sheer persistence. And then I flipped it at the halfway point to make things worse. (Spoiler: It didn’t help.) 🎨 Details: 12 strings Took 72 minutes Flipped at halfway for symmetry (regret!) Zigzags galore = light leaks + lots of chances for error Looks like Rainbow Brite meets retro frustration Mandy said it looks like something Rainbow Brite would wear—and she’s not wrong. But honestly? This one tested my patience like few others. It’s a wild, colorful ride with some potential, but the path to get there is not fun. 🤝 Huge thanks to my YouTube Members for supporting this chaos. Without you, I wouldn’t have the string (or motivation) to suffer through patterns like this 😅
