Why This Heart Pattern Almost Works
Welcome back to Blindsided Creations! Today we’re tackling pattern #126919—a bold 18-string candy stripe setup with some… unusual heart details 🤔
I walk through my process for refining this pattern: removing odd elements (seriously, what is that heart “shine” about?), reworking the layout, and layering in clean, readable hearts that actually work with the design.
🧵 Whether you’re here for design tips or just curious how I work through patterns, you’ll get a full behind-the-scenes look at how I troubleshoot and remix to create something new and unique.

Welcome back! In this Blindsided Creations episode, we’re taking a closer look at pattern #126919 from BraceletBook—a pattern with promise, but some definite design flaws.
🧵 This 18-string candy stripe layout introduces several heart shapes… but as I suspected from the start, not all hearts are created equal. I break down why the smallest hearts fail, why the biggest one almost works (but needs more space!), and how this could evolve into a killer design—maybe even on a bag or a wider bracelet.
💡 Along the way I share tips on string setup, color placement, and how easy this pattern is to knot once the layout’s in place. It’s actually a beginner-friendly pattern that looks more complex than it is—especially with the heart inserts.
⏱️ Took under 90 minutes to complete
🧵 18 strings = 9 colors
🎯 No segment knotting, just fancy candy stripe + custom heart inserts
👥 Huge thanks to my YouTube Members for supporting these projects—especially when they eat up this much string!
