This Pattern Doesn’t Repeat – So I Had to Get Creative!
Hey friends! AWOL here with a fresh bracelet design that threw me a curveball: it’s long, twisty, and barely repeats! 😅 In this video, I walk you through my process of converting an image into a usable pattern – without even checking the knot structure at first. Yep, it’s totally possible to reverse-engineer from a photo!
🔹 What’s Covered:
Centering an offbeat design
How I recreate a bracelet layout using only visual reference
Why some bracelet pattern tools drive me nuts
A little digital magic using GIMP to build the pattern
How you can break free from needing exact pattern numbers
This piece might look advanced, but it’s surprisingly beginner-friendly – mostly left and right knots!
And here is my pattern. Click it to get the PDF in higher resolution.

Today we’re diving into another one of my variegated two-color friendship bracelet patterns—Pattern #89433, and Kumi #1068. This one’s got a real subtle blue variegation that ended up giving it a rad acid-washed jeans effect! 😍
You’ll see everything from polka-dotted diamonds to chevron transitions and even a little Celtic-knot-style action in the center. I wasn’t sure at first how I felt about the design, but by the end? Total love.
⏱ It took about 1 hour and 2 minutes to knot—pretty typical for a 12-string project.
🧵 Super beginner-friendly if you’re looking to step things up just a little.
💬 I talk through segment knotting tips, color blending tricks, and a few minor challenges (like making sure I didn’t do extra chevron rows—oops!).
Plus, thank you to all my YouTube Members—you guys help keep the string stash stocked and the channel running strong. 🙌
