Chunky 16-String Celtic-Inspired Bracelet
After experimenting with a woven Celtic-style design on 12 strings, I thought—why not push it further? Today I’m scaling up to 16 strings for a chunky, bold bracelet that really shows off the over-under rhythm. 🌀
This one definitely eats up string and takes some patience, but the weaving effect is so worth it. Whether you go with a rainbow, neutrals, or earthy browns, this design will stand out on your wrist.

⚠️ Heads up: This one is string-hungry and will take time! Expect ~30 minutes extra just to fill it in.

This chunky 16-string design looks intimidating—but trust me, it’s actually beginner friendly once you see how it works. 🌈
I took inspiration from a Celtic-style woven effect and built this bracelet using eight rainbow colors + gray for balance. The trick is that instead of working big sections, you build it row by row—almost like weaving back and forth. Once you find the rhythm, it flows!
🧵 What you’ll learn in this video:
- How to manage 16 strings without getting lost
- Why this bracelet is easier than it looks (perfect for adventurous beginners!)
- String length tips (why I always cut skeins into thirds)
- How color choice changes the whole look—bold vs. pastel vs. muted
⏱️ Time to complete: ~1 hr 25 min
🎨 Strings used: 9 total (8 rainbow + gray)
⚠️ Skill Level: Beginner-friendly, but looks advanced
