16 Colors, One Template: Randomized Diamond Pattern Experiment
Welcome back, everyone! It’s Kevin (aka AWOL), and today I’m diving into a 16-color mystery mix using a familiar template—but with a totally different vibe. 🎨✨
Instead of matching each color exactly, I’m going with a loose, abstract approach—just following the flow of the pattern and seeing where it takes me. This one’s all about contrast, spontaneity, and seeing how well a solid diamond shape stands out without a traditional rainbow gradient.
💡If you remember the last bracelet in this series (inspired by the candy stripe origin), I wasn’t happy with how subtle the inner design was. This version? I’m aiming for bold, visible blocks—even if the color choices are completely chaotic!
This experiment plays with the idea that the placement of color is often more impactful than the color itself. I’ll be working on the final bracelet right after this video, and I’ll share the results in tomorrow’s update—so don’t miss it!
Big love to my YouTube members 💕 Your support keeps this rainbow-powered chaos going strong. 😄

Hey everyone! Kevin here, aka AWOL, and today we’re leveling up the classic candy stripe bracelet with a fancy twist—and this one turned out WAY cooler than I expected! 😍
This 16-color bracelet builds off the basic candy stripe pattern (knots to the right), but now with reversed box sections right down the center. These little knot-boxes alternate direction and create a unique visual texture that totally stands out—even with a chaotic mix of colors.
💡 I call it Fancy Candy because it looks intricate but remains super beginner-friendly. With a balance of right and left knots, this project adds just the right touch of “extra” without complicating things.
🧮 Bonus surprise: there’s some unexpected math magic happening! I didn’t even realize it while designing the pattern, but as the rows repeated, certain colors reappeared in perfect alignment—fascinating stuff if you’re a color-sequencing nerd like me. 😄
⏱ Total time: 68 minutes
🎨 Colors: Totally random 16-color mix

This one’s honestly got me inspired for future variations—think color fades, mirrored sequences, and maybe even a little graph paper planning. The possibilities are knot over yet.
