Buttons & Hashtags?!

Today’s project is pattern #96275, and we’re diving into some creative liberties to make it a smoother, smarter build. Instead of wrestling with the original complex string flow, I simplified the structure by modifying a few key elements—like turning single dots into doubles and choosing a bold hashtag shape as the central motif.

💡 Original Pattern: #96275
🧵 Colors: Blue (center) + Soft Red (background)
🎯 Focus: Reducing complexity without losing character
🎨 Design tweak: “Inspired by” approach for easier construction

This one’s a great example of how tiny design edits can make a pattern way more enjoyable to build—especially if you’re using variegated floss or doubling strings like I do.

Today we’re making pattern #96275 from friendship-bracelets.net — with a few tweaks to balance and center it — plus its matching kumihimo, pattern #2261.

At first, I wasn’t thrilled with the start of this pattern, but once it shifted into large chevron and square shapes, it became a joy to make. In fact, I finished in under an hour!

This bracelet uses a variegated floss in light-to-mid blue that fades so quickly it created a soft “faded denim” effect — perfect for making the red accents pop. With a mix of button-like diamonds and hashtag motifs, this one has a unique, playful look that I really enjoy.
