Cracking Pattern 104151 Symmetry
Today we’re diving deep into pattern 104151 from friendship-bracelets.net — but with a twist! I’m not following the full pattern. Instead, I’m cropping out just a portion and reverse-engineering it into something beautifully balanced using my favorite custom graph paper.
🎨 We’ll break down the logic behind picking a visual center, decoding a confusing pattern without step-by-step instructions, and using symmetry to simplify design.
✨ Bonus: I’m trying out a red and yellow variegated combo that gives this bracelet a surprise Chinese New Year vibe — we’ll see how that turns out!
If you’ve ever wanted to sharpen your pattern-detective skills or just love the nitty-gritty of symmetrical bracelet design, this one’s for you.

Hey friends, it’s Kevin (aka AWOL), and today I’m diving into pattern #104151 from friendship-bracelets.net—with a twist. I used a subtle variegated yellow floss that almost worked, but this pattern? Let’s just say… I’m not convinced.
Between odd zigzags, confusing design elements, and a color shift that barely showed up, this bracelet was more about curiosity than love at first knot. Still, it only took just over an hour to make, and I learned a lot—especially about string behavior and pattern flow.
