This Subtle 12-String Design Hides a Secret!
Today’s pattern is really different. We’re working with #11604 from friendship-bracelets.net — a design that isolates the variegated floss like no other in the series so far. This layout is all about letting the color shifts shine without crossing over themselves, and I think it could turn out to be one of the best yet.
🔥 I’m using a rusty red variegated thread, paired with a gray background. The pattern isn’t easy — there’s no simple symmetry to copy-paste — but the payoff could be huge with how cleanly the colors might land.
🗺️ I’ll show you how to plan your rows using the custom template (available on akaawol.com), why bracelet length matters when designing, and how to predict floss behavior based on layout alone.

Hey friends, Kevin here (aka AWOL), and today we’re diving into a super subtle and sophisticated design using pattern #11604 from friendship-bracelets.net
. This one surprised me in the best way—with its isolated use of variegated floss and a woven visual effect that’s low-key mesmerizing!
🎯 What’s unique about this pattern?
Isolates variegated floss between solids → no color muddiness!
Super even string usage (no big surprises!)
Very beginner-friendly—with simple row repetition and no pattern referencing needed after the first few rows
Timed at just around 1 hour to complete 💪
🎥 Want to see the kumi in the background? That’s pattern #101, also on friendship-bracelets.net—simple, clean, and classic!
✨ I tried something new this time: using time instead of row-counting to pace the build, and it really worked. Also brainstorming future versions with multi-color “woven” effects—maybe four different colorways? Let me know if you’d be into that!
