Can My Custom Arrowhead Pattern Work with Just 12 Strings? Let’s Find Out!

Hey everyone, it’s Kevin (aka AWOL), and today we’re testing something I’ve been curious about: can my new elongated arrowhead pattern work as a 12-string bracelet? Turns out—yes, with a few smart adjustments!

This version takes the same concept we explored in the 16-string build but condenses it into a smaller layout using doubled embroidery floss. That’s 12 strands total.

🧵 What to expect:

  • Diamond ➝ small square ➝ single dot ➝ next color
  • Adjustments for limited vertical space
  • Color flow that still feels like the original design
  • Bonus: The same kumi loop from yesterday’s video fits perfectly here

📌 This bracelet uses less space but still brings the punchy flow of the bigger version—it’s bold, clean, and slightly more compact. I’m really happy with how it turned out!

Hey everyone, it’s Kevin (aka AWOL), and today I’m back with a finished bracelet using my custom arrowhead-style pattern—but this time with a 12-string setup using doubled floss. And honestly? I forgot how much I love this style.

🧵 This pattern originally ran with 16 strings, but I wanted to know:
➡️ Can I get that same flow and visual punch with just 12?
➡️ How will the edges behave?
➡️ Will the symmetry still hold?

Here’s what I found:

  • The top half (upward-facing chevrons) was still the most difficult
  • Doubling the string makes setup easier for me—but not for everyone
  • Symmetrical design gives you two perspectives in one bracelet
  • Cold colors dominate the center, creating a glowing “eye” effect
  • Took me 1h 5min to make—just a few minutes over my usual time, mostly from checking the pattern

🎨 Colors: Classic rainbow—6 colors, bright on the warm side and deep on the cool
📏 Cut size: You could probably get away with quarters. I used thirds, just in case.

⚠️ Not recommended for beginners—this is definitely a pattern that needs focus and familiarity with knot placement.
