Twisting Pattern 4535 Into Something WAY Easier

We’re taking pattern 4535 from friendship-bracelets.net and giving it a fresh twist—literally. 😄

A couple days ago we made the original, but today we’re remixing it by flipping the color logic and creating a much more consistent knot flow. The result? A design that not only looks dramatically different, but is actually easier (and more fun) to make—especially for beginners.

In this video, I walk you through:

How to safely use the paint tool color picker (and avoid common mistakes 👀)
Swapping colors strategically for a bold contrast effect
Creating a mirrored/opposing color layout inside each square
Why this version is easier to knot (hello consistency 🙌)

Instead of the original “left-right-left” chaos, this version gives you:
👉 4 knots right
👉 3 knots left
👉 4 knots right

That rhythm makes a HUGE difference when you’re actually tying the bracelet.

💡 This is a great example of how you can take any simple pattern and turn it into something unique—without needing advanced skills.

We’re revisiting pattern 4535 from friendship-bracelets.net—but this time, we’re flipping ONE simple decision… and it changes everything.

Instead of following the pattern exactly, we swap the direction of certain knots to create opposing colors in the center of each section. That means:

Orange becomes a blue dot
Yellow becomes a purple dot
Green becomes a red dot

…and suddenly the whole bracelet pops in a completely new way.

💡 The big takeaway?
Every time two strings cross, you have a choice:
👉 Left knot or right knot

That one decision is enough to turn a standard pattern into something uniquely yours.

🧵 What makes this version awesome:

Easier knot flow (less switching directions)
Faster to make (~1 hour total ⏱️)
Super beginner-friendly & easy to memorize
Perfect for crafting on the go (car rides, park sessions, etc.)

This version also uses a contrasting base (white) to really highlight those center “dots”—but you could easily swap in black, gray, or even brown for a totally different vibe.

🧠 Bonus Tips from the Video:

Use leftover strings to build color palettes (great stash buster!)
Doubling strands = thicker, stronger bracelet + fewer knots overall
Memorized patterns = freedom to craft anywhere
